USB Products Overview
USB (Universal Serial Bus) is more than just a
high-speed serial port. Belcarra's USB
Composite Function Framework
(CFF), our signature product, is
an
operating system
agnostic three-layer device stack supporting a fully composite-capable
interface. Multiple functions such as network, mass
storage and serial work concurrently with ease. The substantial
effort normally required to
understand and expose USB composite capabilities is already done for
the product developer.
As
part of our ongoing development of the tools
and techniques of ad hoc (Zeroconf) networking via USB, we have now
added Multicast DNS (MDNS) to
our product line. Belcarra's system-oriented tools and utilities make
integrating
multi-functionality using USB simple and cost effective.
Belcarra's host-side USBLAN networking
class drivers are CDC
standards compliant and enable networking of desktop computers (MS
Windows, Mac OS/X, and Linux) with embedded devices over USB. This
cross platform solution, similar in purpose to Microsoft's RNDIS but
more complete, manages Ethernet-style networking between the host and
the embedded device using the industry standard CDC Ethernet (CDC-ECM)
profile or the newer CDC Ethernet Emulation Model (CDC-EEM) standard
profile. USBLAN also includes optional TCP/IP tools to make
internetworking a snap. Belcarra has a Software Publishing Certificate
from Verisign.
